Michael Friis Johansen

Members of Sisters in Spirit participate in a March 5, 2014 demonstration on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to help draw attention to the murder mere weeks earlier of Loretta Saunders, a Labrador Inuk woman who was a student at Nova Scotia's Saint Mary's University writing a thesis about how a disproportionate number of aboriginal women were going missing and being killed in Canada. Sisters in Spirit was founded in 2005 to do research in and educate people about that issue, among other similar ones.
