What is probably the oldest bridge on the Trans Labrador Highway spans the Churchill River just above the once mighty Grand Falls. Beneath the bridge, plants flourish and a mere trickle of water flows where a huge torrent thundered in the days before the river was dammed in the 1970s to generate electricity. This bridge was built to serve the construction project and was in frequent use long before the highway was completed.
